Hey Mark...

I'm afraid I'm missing your point.

While I'm blessed to work with what we consider a larger congregation- as you know, I grew up in a very small congregation- I love them, and I still really enjoy working with them when I get the opportunity. I know where I currently preach; we have a # of people who travel out into rural areas to help congregations who need preaching. And if one of our members left here to work with them to encourage them, I would absolutely not have a problem with it.

What I had in mind in this article was two struggling congregations in the same small town that won't even consider joining up together because of previous division and controversy. To me this is what is wrong.

But maybe again I missed your point. I hope you are well.

Congregations are or can be still in one and at different locations. Country folk don’t agree with the coffee bars and large congregations. We prefer as close to first century as possible but just because we meet in a different location does not mean we are not part of the body of Christ. And to be shunned for leaving the larger congregation to serve the country folks is wrong.

Amen, brother!

May they all be one, as you, Father are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe you sent me, John 17:21.
