In Colossians 3:4, Paul brings his thoughts to a crescendo:
“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
This is the ultimate hope of the Christian: the moment when what’s hidden now will finally be revealed. Everything we’ve sought, set our minds on, and surrendered to will find its full meaning in Him.
Christ Is Your Life
Notice what Paul doesn’t say. He doesn’t say Christ gives you life. He says Christ is your life. That means Jesus isn’t just a part of what you do… He’s the center of who you are. He’s not your Sunday routine. He’s your reason to exist.
When Christ becomes your life:
You stop chasing status.
You stop measuring your worth by what others think.
You stop living for comfort and start living for His glory.
He becomes your breath, your direction, your anchor, your everything.
Living in Light of His Return
Paul continues:
“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
The King is coming again. And when He does, you’ll be revealed with Him. This changes everything. If you believe Jesus is coming again:
You stop worrying about earthly recognition.
You stop building your life around temporary things.
You start living for what lasts forever.
We don’t fit in here. We don’t store up rewards here. We live now in light of what’s coming then.
You Will Share in His Glory
Right now, you might feel unseen. Overlooked. Misunderstood. But Paul reminds us that one day, those hidden lives of faith will shine.
“Then you also will appear with Him in glory.”
That’s the resurrection promise. No more weakness. No more struggle. No more hiding. You’ll share in the honor of your King, not because of your greatness, but because of your union with Him.
Romans 8:17 (CSB)
“If we suffer with Him, we will also be glorified with Him.”
The world isn’t your reward. Glory is.
Live Now for What Will Matter Then
If glory is your destination, it should shape your direction. Don’t waste your life chasing what will fade. Don’t live for the approval of people who won’t be standing next to you on Judgment Day. Don’t get stuck in the temporary.
Instead:
Seek what’s above.
Set your mind there.
Die to everything else.
Live for the glory that’s coming.
The Kingdom Is Everything
One day, every sacrifice will be worth it. Every act of faith, every unseen moment of obedience, every quiet surrender — all of it will be revealed in glory. So keep going. Keep serving. Keep looking up. Because when Christ appears, you will appear with Him. And that’s when you’ll see why living for the Kingdom was worth everything.

That was such a powerful message Christ is your life really hits deep. It reminds me of Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. When we truly understand that Jesus is our life not just part of it fear loses its grip and faith takes its rightful place. Everything changes when our focus shifts from what is temporary to what is eternal. As Colossians 3:2 says Set your affection on things above not on things on the earth. We are reminded daily that our lives are hidden with Christ in God and one day that hidden glory will be revealed for all to see. Though the world may not understand our walk of faith now the day is coming when Christ will return and we will be with Him in glory forever. As 2 Corinthians 4:17 declares For our light affliction which is but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. So do not lose heart when life gets difficult keep your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Stay rooted in His Word stand firm in prayer and live boldly for His Kingdom for soon we shall see Him face to face. Revelation 22:12 reminds us And behold I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be. Let us keep shining His light and living by faith until that glorious day. No matter what trials we face today remember that every hardship has a purpose and every season of pain produces perseverance. James 1:12 says Blessed is the man that endureth temptation for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. Our faith is being refined like gold and one day it will shine for the glory of God. Let us walk humbly love deeply and serve faithfully knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says Therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. May our lives reflect the love and light of Jesus until we see Him face to face in everlasting glory.
