Set Your Hope
We have crossed the threshold of 2024, a year that we look ahead to with trepidation; as we do, it is imperative to reflect on the hope we have in our calling as Christians. We need to reflect on how God has steadfastly worked in the past, how He navigates our present circumstances, and rest in the assurance of His guidance into the future that anchors our hope. Considering the tumult of 2020, it's understandable to approach the coming year with apprehension. Yet, regardless of the storms that may loom on the horizon, we can stand firm in hope, bringing glory to God.
Defining Hope: A Christian Perspective
Hope isn't just a passive wish for favorable outcomes. It's an active expectation rooted in our belief and trust in God. While faith accepts, hope anticipates. In 1 Peter 1:13, we're urged to set our hope entirely on the grace awaiting us at the revelation of Jesus Christ. This admonition underscores the continuity of God's faithfulness—what He has been in the past, He is in the present and will be in the future.
Hope Guided by Faith: Insights from Paul

In Philippians 3:13b-14, he emphasizes the forward-looking nature of hope, urging us to press on toward the heavenly prize promised in Christ Jesus. Such thinking isn't reserved for a select few.
