In this lesson, we turn to the reality of spiritual warfare. Scripture reminds us that whether we recognize it or not, we are already in a battle. But we do not fight for victory—we fight from it, because Christ has already won.
We Are the Targets of a Fierce Enemy (1 Peter 5:8; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5)
1 Peter 5:8: Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.
Satan’s plan is to terrorize souls, destroy homes, and divide churches.
The battlefield is the heart and mind—every thought must be taken captive to obey Christ.
God Equips Us With Effective Weapons (Ephesians 6:10–18)
Ephesians 6:12: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.
B. God provides the full armor:
Truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace.
Faith, salvation, the Word of God.
Pray at all times.
These are not symbolic decorations—they are survival.
Reacquaint Yourself With the Enemy (Revelation 12:10; John 8:44)
Scripture calls him by many names: adversary, slanderer, tempter, accuser, father of lies.
He works through deception, corruption, accusation, and false worship.
He aims to keep you chained to guilt, bitterness, and empty pleasures.
We Don’t Fight for Victory – We Fight from It (Colossians 2:15; 1 John 5:4–5)
Colossians 2:15: He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him.
1 John 4:4: You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Revelation 12:11: We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
James 4:7: Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
As We Close
Satan is real, but he is defeated.
Christ has already secured the victory.
Every battle is endured with eternity in view.
Stand firm in God’s strength, clothed in His armor, confident of His triumph.
In Christ, we are more than conquerors.
